California’s annual Kushstock Festival celebrated recreational cannabis this past month. The event was free for guests ages 18+ and included plenty of live music performances, food trucks, vendors, and entertainment. Overcast skies did not stop this year’s attendance from reaching over 35,000. We certainly expect attendance to grow next year.
Kushstock prides itself in being a show that is “by the people, for the people”. Despite legalization, a Prop 215 medical recommendation was still required in order to obtain and consume cannabis at the event. The battle for truly regulated cannabis has not stopped there.
A powerful statement was made on the official Kushstock Instagram only two days ago: “[Recreational] RUINED us in California. Michigan, your laws now are perfectly fine. This is 1% trying to take over what is meant for the people.” Hundreds of comments for and against legalization have been debated, but Kushstock’s stance on the matter could not be more clear.
